What A Year!
2025 has been an unforgettable year at Torr Vale Mill. One filled with weddings, live music, markets, laughter and moments that brought our community together. From intimate celebrations to large-scale events, the mill has been alive with creativity, history and connection all year long.
Somewhere That’s Always Evolving
The year began with exciting improvements to the site, including secondary glazing, a new bike store and later a coffee machine upgrade – all part of our ongoing commitment to making Torr Vale Mill an even more welcoming place to visit. Alongside these updates, January and February featured wedding viewing days, live music quizzes, Jazz on Tap afternoons, pottery events and a Valentine’s Dinner that set the tone for the year ahead.
A Truly Special Wedding Venue
Spring marked the start of a busy wedding season, with couples choosing Torr Vale Mill as the backdrop for their big day. Multiple weddings, Wedding Open Days and celebrations filled March and April, alongside events like Mothers Day Afternoon Tea, Easter Trail, Crazy Bingo and live music.
Later in the year, we were incredibly proud to be named finalists in The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) for Historic Wedding Venue – East Midlands. This recognition reflects not only the beauty of the mill, but the care, character and experience we offer every couple who celebrates here. We can’t wait to welcome many more.
Music, Markets & Memorable Nights
As summer arrived, Torr Vale Mill became a hub for live entertainment and community events. Comedy nights, Makers At The Mill (Makers Market), Jazz on Tap and regular live music quiz nights kept the calendar buzzing, while performances from artists like Alfie Hinchcliffe and events such as Manchester Finest and the New Mills Carnival brought incredible atmosphere to the site.
Behind the scenes, essential works – including a yard crane replacement and chimney repairs – ensured the mill continues to thrive for years to come.
Celebrating Heritage & Community
Autumn brought even more reasons to visit, with the Visit Peak District Walking Festival launch, National Heritage Open Weekend, our first Light Up The Torrs event and live performances creating memorable moments for visitors of all ages. Weddings continued throughout September and October, proving that Torr Vale Mill is a magical setting in every season.
Ending The Year On A High
The year finished with a festive flourish. November and December saw parties galore, The Wedding Industry Award celebrations, Merry Millmas and the Christmas Lights Switch On, Christmas at TVM party and our busiest Makers At The Mill to date, with over 1100 visitors – a brilliant way to close an incredible year.
